The University of Fort Hare is seeking applications from appropriately qualified and experienced candidates for the position of a Professor / Associate Professor in Educational Psychology in the Faculty of Education

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements

Doctoral degree in Education Psychology or related discipline (e.g. Inclusive Education)
At least 7 years’ experience for a Professor / 5 years’ experience for an Associate Professor in higher education;
Extensive teaching and research experience in Education Psychology or related discipline;
Track record of accredited national and international research publications commensurate with academic rank level of a Professor or Associate Professor;
Extensive postgraduate supervision experience including successful doctoral supervision;
Evidence of successful fundraising for research
Evidence of academic leadership and/or mentoring of less experienced researchers

Added Advantages

Specialisation in Educational Psychology and/or related areas such as Inclusive Education
Evidence of professional and academic standing in the field of specialisation
Recognition as a leading scholar in a chosen area of research (e.g. NRF rating, international keynote/ plenaries);
Evidence of attracting and working with post-doctoral research fellows;
Evidence of strong community engagement integrated with teaching, learning and research.

Duties

Teach undergraduate and postgraduate educational psychology or related teacher education courses;
Supervise Masters and Doctoral students;
Undertake publishable academic research;
Provide leadership in curriculum review and development
Participate in community engagement integrated with teaching and/or research;
Perform academic leadership and related administrative duties
Secure external research grants and establish programs.
