The University of Fort Hare is seeking applications from appropriately qualified and experienced candidates for the posts of Professor/Associate Professor in the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Science and Agriculture.

Minimum Requirements:Â

A Doctoral Degree in Statistics or Biostatistics or related field
At least 10 years teaching experience in higher education for full Professor / 7 years experience in higher education for Associate Professor
Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in the area of Statistics or Biostatistics
A track record of accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Professor / Associate Professor
Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Doctoral supervision

Duties:

Provide academic leadership in research, curriculum design, development and implementation
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules in statistics or biostatistics
Secure external research grants and establish research programs
Establish national and international collaborations
Supervise Honours, Masters and Doctoral students and host Post-doctoral fellows
Meet research publication requirements appropriate for the academic rank
Contribute to academic leadership and mentorship of academic staff
Participate in community engagement integrated with teaching and/or research
Participate in administrative duties at departmental, faculty and university levels
