The University of Fort Hare is seeking applications from appropriately qualified and experienced candidates for the post of Professor/Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer in Mathematics (1 post), Faculty of Science and Agriculture.

Minimum Requirements:Â

A Doctoral Degree in Mathematics (preferably in Pure Mathematics)
At least 10 yearsâ experience in higher education for full Professor / 7 yearsâ experience in higher education for Associate Professor / 5 yearsâ experience in higher education for Senior Lecturer

Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in mathematics
A track record of accredited research publications that are nationally and internationally recognized commensurate with the academic rank of Professor / Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer
Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Masters and Doctoral supervision

Evidence of successful fundraising for research
Evidence of professional and academic standing at the national and international levels
Evidence of academic leadership and mentorship of early career academics.
Recognition as a leading scholar in a chosen area of research (e.g., NRF rating, international keynote addresses/ plenary lectures)
Evidence of attracting and successfully hosting post-doctoral research fellows.
Evidence of national and international collaboration
Evidence of strong community engagement integrated with teaching, learning and research

Duties

Provide leadership in research, curriculum design, development, and implementation
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in mathematics offered by the department
Secure external research grants and establish research programs
Establish national and international collaborations
Supervise Honours, Masters and Doctoral students and host post-doctoral fellows
Meet research publication requirements appropriate for the academic rank
Contribute to academic leadership and mentorship of academic staff
Participate in community engagement integrated with teaching and/or research
Participate in administrative duties at departmental, faculty and university levels
