Short Description / Purpose of Job
Manage and co-ordinate all commissioning aspects to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective commissioning and start-up of the ROAS assets.

Develop and maintain a Commissioning Execution Plan for commissioning deliverables that is integrated with Business and Operations readiness deliverables.
Develop plans, procedures, and protocols to safely commission and start up the project in line with governance and assurance requirements.

Ensure that long-term business success by providing a safe, operable, and maintainable plant and competent resources to the end Business Owner. This job is based at Komatipoort with frequent travel into Mozambique to four customer sites.
Key Accountabilities:
- Establish and develop a competent commissioning and start-up team.
- Oversee the resource planning and mobilization and de-mobilization of commissioning resources.
- Develop, manage, and maintain a detailed pre-production budget. Ensure accurate and timely reporting and forecasting as required.
- Develop, manage, and maintain a detailed integrated commissioning and start-up plan including manpower, logistics, feedstocks, commercial agreements, infrastructure, stakeholder alignment and regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for the execution of commissioning and start-up against relevant plans, policies, procedures and standards and budgets.
- Secure appropriate service providers to collaboratively deliver on commissioning and start-up activities.
- Establish relationships with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure consistent quality service delivery.
- Conduct a comprehensive Commissioning and start-up Risk assessment for the execution phase. Escalate risks to the project and formulate mitigation strategies to keep project commissioning and start-up on track.
- Ensure adherence to Commissioning governance and assurance requirements through periodic Health Checks.
- Ensure the achievement of SHE objectives and targets as prescribed by in-country specific legislation for the duration of project commissioning and start-up.
- Ensure the development of relevant Commissioning training material and relevant Operating manuals.
- Integrate with the Project Execution and Operations teams to ensure a safe and effective plant commissioning and start-up.
- Facilitate the effective and efficient handover of the facility between the project execution and Operations teams.
- Play a leading role in the Pre-Start-Up Safety Review (PSSR) process.
- Actively participate in Engineering and Project activities to ensure identified commissioning and start-up needs are addressed and adequately catered for.
- Support and manage external stakeholder relationships. Give accurate and timely feedback in line with stakeholder reporting requirements.
Formal Education
BTech (Engineering), BSc (Engineering), BEng (discipline specific) or Equivalent
Matric Certificate

Min Experience
5 to 8 years in a Commissioning Manager or Engineer role.
Operations and/or Project experience, in addition, will be beneficial.
