POSITION INFO:

PROGRAMME MANAGER: PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT

 

An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced professional to fulfill the role of: Programme Manager: Planning & Development, in KZN. The appointee will render support to the GM: Technical Services in identifying new business opportunities, undertaking planning, compiling and evaluating business plans by using sound judgement, initiative and technical expertise.

 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Planning and development of new business.
  • Identifying and evaluating expansion opportunities.
  • High level planning of potential water and related services projects.
  • Preparing business plans, project proposals and funding applications.
  • Progress reporting and team leadership.
  • Oversight and management of projects that are in the planning stage.
  • Ensure that all bid processes are followed in terms of the appointment of service providers.
  • Ensuring GIS and related resources are maintained.
  • Conduct Risk assessments and contingency planning.
  • Asset management.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 7) in CivilEngineering (BSc. Or BEng)with a minimum of seven year’s relevant experience or aBachelor of Technology (NQF level 6) inCivil Engineering with a minimum of ten years relevant experience.
  • Registration with ECSA as Professional Engineer or Professional Technologist is required.
  • Water engineering in a project or planning environment will be preferred.
  • Proficiency in the simultaneous planning of large and small engineering projects.
  • Sound knowledge of public sector procurement processes and applicable legislation is required.
  • Well-developed skills in management, negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge of potable and wastewater treatment and asset management
  • Computer literacy in MS Office, MS Projects, and GIS.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Valid Driver’s licence.
