JOB SUMMARY:
An international Technology conglomerate seeks an experienced and analytical Project Accountant to join one of their reputable divisions in Johannesburg North. This role will involve travel to the warehouse in Johannesburg East on a weekly basis.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job & Company Description:
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the financial health of the division in order to promote success and growth.

The incumbent will be a hardworking, driven, self-motivated, ambitious person who will be able to work independently, accurately and with a high degree of responsibility.

Duties Include:

Capture bank transactions and reconcile bank accounts
Capture the credit card transactions and reconcile bank to statements
Capture creditors invoices and reconcile back to statements
Processing local and international invoices
Make payments to suppliers
Drafting creditors lists
Calculate depreciation on fixed assets and maintaining the fixed asset register
Capture and process SLAs
Reconcile salary, PAYE and staff loan accounts
Calculate and record accruals
Follow up on payments on a weekly basis for all outstanding invoices and purchase orders
Handle audit queries for mid-year and annual audits
Assist management with monthly reporting to CFO
Implement internal controls and processes
Project transactions
Capture project costs
Processing supplier invoices to a project
Processing expenses to project

Education:

BCom degree in Finance or Accounting

Skills & Experience:

Completed SAIPA articles preferred OR
3 to 4 years experience in a project accounting role within a services industry
Strong project accounting experience
Advanced MS Excel knowledge
Ability to adapt to new accounting (ERP) systems
Strong computer literacy
Financial acumen
Ability to work in a highly pressured and fast paced environment
Team player
