A Project Co-ordinator (12 Months Contract) vacancy is available at our Client, Wits Health Consortium in Parktown, Johannesburg - Gauteng.

POSITION INFO:

Background

Wits Health Consortium (Pty) Limited ("WHC") is a wholly-owned Company of the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (South Africa) under its Faculty of Health Sciences. WHC provides Faculty with a legal framework within which to operate the research and other activities necessary to support its academic objectives. In addition, WHC offers a range of products and services to the Academics conducting these activities in order to assist with the management thereof

Main purpose of the job

  • To provide administrative and coordination support to the project teams and implement project activities efficiently and effectively to ensure the successful internal delivery of projects

Location

  • Parktown, Johannesburg

Key performance areas

Research project development

  • Assist with the development and implementation of new policies within the team
  • Develop SOPs for managing projects, recording activities and tracking progress
  • Work with the team to identify and manage risks

Project administration and coordination

  • Dropbox management (maintain, clean-up and add folders and files)
  • Setup committee meetings with lead staff and other admin meetings
  • Meeting minute taking
  • On-boarding of vendors
  • Payment and reconciling of suppliers

Required minimum education and training

  •  Diploma or Degree in Business Administration/relevant qualification

Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities

  • Computer literacy particularly MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience working in a public health environment, donor-funded organization, or NGO
  • Bookkeeping experience will be an added advantage. Exceptional organizational and administrative skills. Able to maintain confidentiality, tact and professionalism at all times
  • Display a high level of initiative and independent decision-making
  • Self-motivated with high regard for work ethic, value and integrity and highly organized
  • Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Required minimum work experience

  •  Minimum 3 years working experience in office or project administration experience
