JOB SUMMARY:
Project Cost Controller (contract) in the Pyrometallurgy industry, based in Midrand, Johannesburg.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

Control and manage project(s) financial commitments. Maintain and report on management records of budget, expenditure, forecast and cash flow.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Support project managers and engineers in controlling the project budget
Maintain management records of budget, expenditure, forecast and cash flow
Maintain (non-financial statements) budget cost management records for one or more projects
Compile and create reports on Group Reporting system
Verify expenditure documents for approval by Project manager(s).
Issue all the project institutional reports and those requested from time-to-time by management
Oversee and supervise invoicing to clients, and follow-up on debtors
Ensure prompt payments to clients enabling regular project cost reports and forecasts to be generated for management including assistance with forecast-final-cost and cash flow requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in project environment, contracts, foreign currencies, letter of credit and some accounting background– preferably budgeting
Must be able to operate MS Excel, Word and Outlook effectively
Knowledge of BPCS, Cost track or SAP will be highly advantageous
Knowledge of a project lifecycle will be advantageous
