Project Engineer

SUMMARY:
Well established international manufacturing company situated in Olifantsfontein are seeking an experienced and qualified Project Engineer to oversee and manage the engineering team and all associated engineering and technical projects to meet the strategic and business requirements of the company.

POSITION INFO:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering;
• Certification in project management
• Proven working experience as a Project Engineer
• Certification in business administration (preferred)
• Minimum 5 years experience in production or project management
• Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
• Proven knowledge of project management tools, methodologies and best practices
• Investigative mind inclined toward developing practical solutions to real-world problems
• Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, collaborate, problem solve and drive projects to completion on time and within budget
• Decision making ability and leadership skills
• Good knowledge of design and visualisations software such as AutoCAD or Fusion 360
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
• Time management and organization skills
• Good communication skills
• Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems
• Detail-orientated

DUTIES:

● Leading research and development projects that produce new designs, products and processes

● Developing detailed plans for new designs and products

● Manage the development of new technologies and innovations

● Manage the process of bringing new products into production

● Manage local and international product certifications

● Assist in the formalisation and implementation of patents and other IP

● Develop and manage documentation systems that create and control product information and support materials

● Create systems and processes that improve the efficiency of engineering, production and the company as a whole

● Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions

● Define the scope and objectives of projects including resource requirements and budgets

● Define detailed project plans for approval from senior management where necessary
