Project Engineer

POSITION INFO:

Purpose of the post:

To effectively manage and coordinate the engineering function of the project. 

Duties and responsibilities:

• Include schedule preparation, pre-planning, and resource forecasting for engineering and other technical activities relating to the project. 
• Develop project objectives.
• Develop specifications for all required equipment.
• Manage the effective short, medium, and long-term planning of all engineering-related activities and operations of the project.
• Ensuring engineering compliance with statutory requirements (business, safety, and risk management).
• Ensure the overall effectiveness, maximum availability of equipment, and engineering integrity (upholding of professional engineering standards).
• Introduce new technology to ensure improved performance of equipment or infrastructure which is outdated.
• Effective guide engineering staff in providing a quality professional service.
• Ensure capital and working costs are effectively managed.

Competencies:

• Computer literacy (MS Office, MS Project).
• Time management skills.
• Reliable engineering/preventative maintenance skills.

Minimum qualifications and requirements:

• 5 - 20 years Project Management experience would be desirable.
• CMI essential.
• B Engineering/BSC Engineering essential.
• Project Management qualification.
• Registration as a professional certificated engineer will be an advantage.
