Project Engineer (EE), Glass Mould Manufacturing - East Rand

SUMMARY:
(Mechanical) Engineering degree, Bachelor or Master. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

POSITION INFO:

Our client is a global leader in glass mould manufacturing. To strengthen their growing company they are looking for a new and enthusiastic colleague who would like to step into the role of Project Engineer.

The successful incumbent will have an engineering profile with a broad scope and interest for different domains within manufacturing, ideally with a mechanical background.

Position details:

Understanding of and interest in the business workflow, especially on shop floor level is a core driver.
During the implementation process of new SAP ERP and MES systems, being highly involved and the bridge between the team at the company at division level and the people at the plant in South Africa is essential. Taking up the role of trainer for the end users.
Close contact is needed with the Divisional IT specialists, to align and support on the local implementation.
Setting up infrastructure, but also analyzing and making reports for different domains.
Local feedback and input are highly appreciated, resulting on the importance of keeping in touch with different departments all over the company (management, staffing and production) in order to align on the implementation and adding value to the project.
Involvement in automation processes and monitoring data flow on manufacturing business systems.

Representative activities:

Analyses requirements with the project sponsor/customer, determines the strategy for the proposal and evaluates the feasibility.
Leads or contributes to the development of the project proposal or plan to determine timeframe, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements and allocation of available resources to various phases of the project.
Contributes to developing/improving policies, standards, core processes and evaluation principles.
Oversees technical and organizational management and financial aspects of the project.
Acts as the interface between the project sponsor/customer and the services involved.
Reports progress to the project sponsor/client at significant project milestones.
Negotiates changes in project specification or scope with the project sponsor/client.
May manage a project team, typically consisting of specialists/engineers.
May negotiate and manage contracts with external suppliers.

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Education:

(Mechanical) Engineering degree, Bachelor or Master.
Good knowledge of the English language.

Experience and Skills:
Analytical mindset, high interest in IT.
Drive for professionalization.

Interested in working in a team-oriented environment.
Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Knowledge of ERP systems is a plus.
