POSITION INFO:
The Project Manager will play a critical role in shaping and implementing a holistic strategy for managing information assets at the IDC.
This includes supporting the assessment, development, and implementation of compliance and regulatory initiatives within the Records Management Department.
This role is pivotal in aligning project deliverables with established project management standards and regulatory frameworks, including NARS, POPIA, and PAIA.
The incumbent will drive strategic efforts to manage information assets effectively, enhance compliance, and improve operational efficiency.
The role requires coordination across multiple programmes and stakeholders, ensuring seamless integration and consistent progress.

• Define and track performance metrics for Executive reporting.
• Manage project resources, capacity, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project milestone.
• Identify and mitigate risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Internal / Operational Processes
• Facilitate and manage large Microsoft SharePoint project implementations.
• Provide expert analysis and recommendations to improve systems and processes.
• Proactively identify, diagnose and recommend improvements and provide specialist advice and support; ensuring that solutions are appropriate and effective.
• Use practical knowledge and theoretical guidelines, to diagnose area of specialisation problems and generate workable solutions.
• Understand project management area of application in order to exhibit insight and use understanding to make applicable recommendations and improvements.
• Accountable for the improvement of quality, service and work outputs, continuously recommending improvements by continually posing powerful and insightful questions to enable critical thinking skills in the teams.
• Ensure project management practices are applied effectively across all initiatives.

Customer Focus Stakeholder Management
• Design large project plans, identify resources for execution purposes, implement, identify risks and apply associated project management principles.
• Track metrics at team and programme level.
• Capture required data and information into programme and project management tools to report on project progress and project plan adjustments.
• Manage project execution to meet project objectives.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their records and information management needs and requirements.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress and compliance status.
• Conduct training and awareness programs for staff on records and information management best practices and compliance requirements.
• Bachelor`s Degrees in Information Management, Information Technology, BCom or equivalent
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is preferred
• 8 - 10 years of experience in a similar environment (project management) with a focus on records management and information governance.
• Proven track record of successfully implementing records management and governance frameworks in a regulated environment
• Strong knowledge of records and information management principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution, and risk management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of the National Archives and Records Service of South Africa, POPIA, and PAIA regulations.
Experience with SharePoint or other records management systems is an advantage.
