SUMMARY:
Our client and its members are currently engaged in a Master Plan project to 2030. The Master Plan is a social compact between stakeholders, including the industry, government, downstream users and consumers and labour unions, and seeks to stabilise, reorganise and grow their respective industry into a thriving economic contributor.

POSITION INFO:

The first phase of the Master Plan is focussed on restructuring and setting the foundations for diversification.

Our client seeks the services of a Project Manager for a 3 year contract, who would:

Lead and drive company activities linked to the Master Plan on behalf of the industry;
Co-ordinate and supply information to meetings of company-lead Task Team’s;
Ensure that all conditions of the Competition Commission Exemption that has been granted to the industry are complied with in all interactions;
Ensure that all documentation and reporting complies with Competition Commission conditions, and is submitted according to deadlines;
Liaise with the Project Steering Committee, and Executive Oversight Committee, when necessary;
Provide regular updates on progress on all Master Plan matters to the industry’s Weekly Master Plan Co-ordination Group;
Raise concerns regarding slow or stalled progress;
Provide solutions.

The successful candidate must have the following:

Qualified to operate in a complex business and project environment.
Experience in project management in a regulated environment.
Experience in managing Consultants to support various initiatives.
Proven track record in high level project management.
People management and co-ordination is a major focus at a senior level.
Outstanding communication skills.
Solution oriented.
Attention to detail.
Deadline driven.
Occasional national travel is required.
