Our client that has a national footprint that specializes in the innovative operation and management methods of coal fired Boiler plants on behalf of Industrial users require the skills and expertise of a Projects Manager who will be reporting to the Projects Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking initiative and execute various projects secured by the client nationally.

Position: Project Manager - Industrial Energy Industry
Location: Cape Town, Western Cape
Salary: Market related depending on qualification and experience
Start date: ASAP
Period: Permanent

Introduction:
Our client that has a national footprint that specializes in the innovative operation and management methods of coal fired Boiler plants on behalf of Industrial users require the skills and expertise of a Projects Manager who will be reporting to the Projects Director.

Position Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for taking initiative and execute various projects secured by the client nationally.

Requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12
• BSc Mechanical Engineering degree from a recognised institution
• 2 years in-field working experience preferred
• Previous experience in managing engineering projects will be an advantage
• Fair understanding of the OHS Act, in particular, Construction Regulations
• Experience with ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 5001 compliance will be advantageous
• Willing to work extended hours and travel at short notice as the need arise
• Must have a passion for project management
• Have an interest in energy and steam generation plants, fuel (coal, HFO, biomass) management, water treatments
• Must have a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license

• Evaluation, Initiation, planning, design, execution (supervision), monitoring and closure of a project 
• Track and report on project costs to budget
• Monitor and manage the project timing plan and take appropriate action as necessary 
• Maintain a project file that documents all aspects of the project 
• Manage the project team to ensure the project is delivered to the defined specification and client expectations 
• Manage the on-site activities from a Construction Management point of view 
• Communicate regularly to the various project stakeholders 

• Proven ability to problem-solve and focused approach to mitigating risk
• Good interpersonal skills to support working with a diversified team
• Motivated by challenging circumstances
• Good English command – verbal and written
• Professionalism and confidence
• Positive and proactive engagement with teams
• Be a self-starter and take initiative
