Project Manager - Marketing & Communications

SUMMARY:
VACANCY (INTERNAL & EXTERNAL) Our Client has a vacancy for a Project Manager-Marketing & Communications position based Midrand (to be deployed in Northern Region, Polokwane). This position reports directly to the Group Head: Marketing & Communications and will be responsible for project deliverables relating to Marketing work-stream and ensuring that all project deliverables are met as per Client

POSITION INFO:

1. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

This role is critical in ensuring that project objectives, targets and customer service is actively managed in order to ensure the overall delivery of the Marketing & Communications work-stream strategy. The role will ensure that project/s are executed to the highest degree of excellence in accordance with the scope of work and the project charter adopted.

2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

• Strategy formulation and developing Marketing, Policy and Guidelines and Protocols, and Business Development proposals

• Develop and implement the scope of work from concept to implementation to finalisation.

• Ensure that the project scope is managed by assessing requirement changes, determining, and conveying impact on budget, time and risk.

• Ensure that work stays within the broad parameters of the project.

• Clarify, identify, and track requirements and issues, remove barriers, resolve minor project issues and escalate to immediate manager if/where required.

• Ensure the project is managed within the contract values of the budget.

• Document and archive project activities, deliverables, tools and findings for future projects.

• Drive and challenge different work streams on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.

• Manage project closure initiatives, such as client satisfaction survey and closure analysis.

• Assist project teams to deliver multiple simultaneous projects that could span across several business or technology arenas.

• Responsible for clearly and concisely communicating project details and setting

expectations and context across all levels of the organization.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

• Develop a monthly financial work plan that will include estimated costs, profit and disbursements.

• Submit all timesheets, Portfolio of Evidence, invoices and reports on the stipulated project times for the efficient collection of payment.

• Ensure that Financial management for efficient company and project operations are current and reported on timeously.

• Manage the appointment of Service Providers according to company processes, criteria and requirements as set out by the company

INFORMATION MANAGEMENT

• Provide output and information required for the monitoring and reporting of the Project deliverables.

• Ensure proper coordination and flow of information between the Marketing & Communication department and the project office.

• Deliver comprehensive reports on the project as required.

COMPLIANCE AND GOVERNANCE

• Ensure that the respective policies have been implemented so as to manage the overall risk to the organization.

• Assess and ensure that organizational level agreements and service level agreements are met in terms of the project deliverables.

• Ensure that all relevant legislation has been adhered to in the formulation and development of the various operational and project deliverables.

• Understand and comply with pertinent company, client and industry regulatory safety rules and regulations.

• Know and follow pertinent health and safety requirements

• Pursue training opportunities that align with the approved IDP.

• Adhere to:

- Delegation of Authority.

- Project risk management procedures.

- ISO procedures.

- All other policies and administrative procedures.

3. JOB REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Degree in Marketing & Communications or related

• Project Management Qualification

• Post Graduate Qualification (an added advantage)

• 10+ years’ experience with a proven track record in project management, strategy, marketing &communications, stakeholder engagement, client liaison, public relations, management of multi-disciplinary projects.

• Knowledge of relevant legislation, and/or related statutes

• Land Public Transport Experience

• Knowledge for IRPTN
