SUMMARY:
Product Support Co-ordinator (Qualified Diesel Mechanic) with experience dealing in Heavy Commercial Vehicle sector and workshop experience to be based at the Head Office in Johannesburg for Global OEM

POSITION INFO:

Duties / Responsibilities:

Handle cases (DRCA/FQCA) within FRAS
Be available on the Helpdesk telephone.
Work within the established processes and routines, and to actively assist in the continuous improvements of these
Communicate and report product problems to the field Quality process
Support trouble shooting & diagnose
Support and co-ordinate technical engineers from HQ during technical investigations to markets
Provide timely and accurate technical assistance to After sales department, dealers and customers directing or carrying out remedial action as necessary
Assist the workshops in giving required technical assistance to customers
Attend technical seminars and keep informed on developments in such issues as production, technical and engineering innovations, within the truck and bus industry, and recommend changes where necessary
Assist in training of technicians in use of literature and systems to help themselves to solve technical
Manage the process for the in-house control of Technical information and upkeep and distribution of Technical information to relevant department employees, dealers and customers
Assist with compiling of and submission of top ten reports
Foster and promote a safe and healthy work environments maintaining safe work practices at all time. Complying with company safety policies and procedures
When requested carry out other reasonable duties and responsibilities not specifically mentioned in the job description during the course and scope of employment

Education and/or Experience

Must have completed High school education
Qualified Diesel Mechanic with a trade test certificate
Possess sound technical and product knowledge with hands on experience of working within a workshop environment
Further education in relevant field an advantage

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Current heavy commercial vehicle product knowledge including trucks, bus, coach and engines
General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with focus on customer management and training
Able to work on own initiative and under pressure
General computer and IT knowledge
Ability to actively seek solutions to problems
Write and speak English fluently
