Project Support Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client specializes in project support for the (petro)chemical and maritime industries. They provide personnel in the areas of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, Maintenance, and Safety. They are seeking a Project Support Engineer to join their
team in the Netherlands.

Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required:

• Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 1-10 years of experience in project engineering, preferably within the marine or shipbuilding industry, supporting project delivery from concept through to completion.
• Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of marine engineering principles, shipbuilding processes, and the ability to understand and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Location Requirement: Candidates should either be South African residents currently living in the Netherlands or South Africans willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
• Fluency in Afrikaans (both written and spoken).

• Project Coordination: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize competing demands within a project timeline.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve engineering and project issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to the project schedule.

• Technical Support: Assist the project team in addressing technical challenges, including engineering design reviews, analysis, and implementation of solutions. Ensure all technical documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure smooth execution of marine and shipbuilding projects, including tracking progress and maintaining schedules.
• Resource Management: Assist in the planning and allocation of resources, ensuring that engineering, materials, and personnel are properly deployed to meet project needs.
• Quality Control: Monitor project deliverables to ensure they meet the required quality standards and specifications, conducting inspections and resolving any quality issues that arise.
• Client and Stakeholder Communication: Support the communication with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth operations, timely delivery of materials, and alignment with project objectives.
