Projects Engineering Manager

SUMMARY:
A great job opportunity has opened up in Namibia and is seeking the expertise of a Projects Engineering Manager to lead the Project Engineering vertical and be responsible for decision making on all engineering related aspect along with providing strategic project management service.

POSITION INFO:
Education and Minimum Requirements

• 4 Year BSc or BTech Mechanical Engineering degree
• Registered Engineer (Engineering Council of Namibia)
• MBA, MDP or related experience would be advantageous
• 15 Years general Engineering experience.
• 5 Years at management level
• Namibian Police Clearance

• Well versed in prevalent SANS codes and standards as well as international design codes
• Project Management skills, Strategic Engineering planning/ implementation
• Industry best practice on engineering
• Local, Regional and National structures and officials
• Experience of having worked with Engineering consultancy firms.
• Understanding of overall Engineering function (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, etc.)
• Experience of having worked with EPC companies
• Engineering policy formulation/ requirements
• Knowledge of Mines, Health and Safety regulation of Namibia
• Company Affirmative Action and SHEQ policies
• Track project performance, analyze key risks and highlight in advance
• Responsible for management and handing over of all engineering related drawings/ documents incl. commissioning protocols, etc.
• Quantity certification and quality checks
• People management skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Project management skills

• Develop and manage the project engineering vertical in a strategic manner
• Responsible for all decision making in project engineering
• Responsible for Plant integration and interphase management of the complete project
• Liaise with EPC business partners and Owners engineer for timely generation and approvals of engineering drawings/ datasheets/ 3D models, etc.
• Responsible for quality management and assurance of designs, supplies and construction activities at site
• As a legal appointee, responsible for documents sign-off wherever necessary as per Mines Health and Safety regulation of Namibia
• Manage and control budget/costs
• Ensure and oversee efficient and effective people management
• Attend to personal development
• Lead a safe department, ensuring commitment to uphold high, effective risk (SHEQ) management standards.
