Proposal Engineer

SUMMARY:
The candidate will report to the Field Services and Energy Manager, the vacancy exists in the Package Boiler Business Unit

POSITION INFO:

Duties:

• Visit new customers and solicit enquiries
• Review customers specifications and commercial conditions Perform site and boiler surveys and record all required information.
• Identify site and boiler house risks and opportunities
• Liaise with other departments within the company as required e.g. engineering, drawing office, procurement, works, spares etc.
• Prepare cost estimates, including issuing and adjudicating purchase enquiries for bought-out items
• Prepare proposals including commercial and technical documents in line with company procedures
• Preparation of power point presentation
• Follow-up tenders and securing of orders
• Prepare and issue confirmation orders and hand-over to the Contracts Specialist Update and maintain proposals data bases 

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

BSC in Mechanical Engineering

EXPERIENCE

Must have a minimum of five years in an engineering environment, with proposals, sales, project management experience in a boiler related industry with the focus on the following:

• Be able to interact with customers at all levels
• Ability to define project requirements based on customer interaction
• Knowledge and experience with international commercial conditions (FIDIC, NEC3, etc) will be an advantage
• Strong negotiation skills
• Have impeccable communication skills, both oral and written in English
• Can work well within a team environment as well as without supervision
• Be fluent in MS Office (ie MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Be prepared to travel locally and internationally.
