SUMMARY:
Prototype Design Engineer

POSITION INFO:
Highly successful and dynamic manufacturing operation situated in Cape Town, is looking to employ a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the New Product Development team on one of their manufacturing sites. You will be involved with New product development, improvement on existing models, the prototype manufacturing process, and ensure the smooth roll out of new prototype designs onto production lines and take responsibility for BOM requirements and changes.
You will also provide technical support to all stakeholders involved: procurement, production, commissioning, warranty department etc.
Risk assessment, safety and quality will also form an important part of your responsibilities.

Requirements:
Engineering Diploma or Degree – Mechanical, (Industrial with Designing experience)
3 years’ Product Designing experience in a Manufacturing environment
Knowledge of tooling and jig design
Proficiency in Solidworks – non negotiable
Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
Experience in a similar role in the Automotive or Aerospace industry will secure your interview.
Driver’s license and own transport is essential
