SUMMARY:
QA Manager contract for a company based in Manchester, helping audit, review and improve the testing function.
POSITION INFO:
QA Manager required for a 6-month initial contract for a software company based in Manchester and London (remotely).
This role can offer up to £550 per day, and will be inside IR35. Ideally, you will be able to commute to one of the offices for the odd meeting, but this role will be predominantly remote.
The company are a well-established consultancy who have both internal Test Engineers, as well as those from a third party who are integrated into the company very well.
Currently the company have a large testing function (roughly 40 Testers) that doesn''t really have a Test Manager / Head of Test. Right now, they come under the combined bracket of Development, QA & BA, and whilst all of the technical team work closely together, the company is keen for there to be a couple of QA Managers who can be accountable for the testing function.
For this six-month contract there are two main priorities. The first is an urgent project coming up in a couple of months that requires you to develop the overall approach to testing with a focus on integration testing in particular.
The second is more all-encompassing - you will be looking at how the testing team is functioning in general, and reviewing all practices and processes that have been carried out during the absence of a dedicated Test Manager. This will include making sure the testing is of a high quality, is relevant and is consistent across the board.
Additionally the company are looking to implement CI/CD pipelines across the process, which has been done so to mixed success, so they''ll be looking to you to develop this further across the business.
You''ll have most of the following skills/experience:
**Ideally demonstrable experience improving a testing strategy, function and processes
**Implementing CI/CD pipelines
**Jenkins
**Managing large programmes of testing
**Experience across HR, accountancy or education sector would be a bonus
**Working closely with a Technical Architect
** Manage the testing team
** Ensure test deliverables are met
