Established International Engineering Company seeks a QSHE Executive to be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the integrated quality and environmental program. Formulates and maintains policy and procedure in this regard, ensuring all products and services meet quality standards. Area of responsibility: • Legal Compliance – Explosive, X-ray and effluent system requirements, etc.

Formal schooling / degree:
• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Recognized SHEQ related qualification i.e., Quality Assurance Degree or Diploma/ HIRA training certification as internal auditor for SANS ISO 14001 & SANS OHSAS 18001
• Previous experience in an explosive’s environment would be highly advantageous. Experience:
• Min. 7 plus years’ experience within Quality Assurance in an Engineering environment, of which 5 years within a managerial role.
• Proven results of system implementation
• Ideally with experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment

MAIN TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES
• Reporting to the General Manager
• Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the integrated quality, health, safety and environment program. Formulates and maintains policy and procedures in this regard, ensuring that all products and services meet quality standards.
• Legal Compliance – Explosive requirements, X-ray Competent person, Effluent system, etc
• Quality Assurance – Quality Engineers
• Quality Control Laboratory – Quality Inspectors
• Hands on approach regarding the management and control of all SHEQ related aspects throughout the company
• Manage the Quality Assurance and SHE Department
• Ensure Legal Compliance and conformance to all SHE systems in accordance with the Occupational Health Safety Act and regulations (85 of 1993)
• Assess customer requirements and ensure that these are met
• Investigate and set standards for quality
• Record, analyse and distribute statistical information
• Drive continuous improvement in all aspects (product, process) in order to achieve world class quality standards • Prepare and issue management/ technical reports
• Determine training needs
• Work to maintain company’s quality, environment, and safety certifications,
• Liaise with auditors on system and process audits (i.e., ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 or any other system as applicable within the company)
• Work with operating staff to establish procedures, standards, systems
• Maintain quality system manuals and procedures
• Establish and control budget, report, and budget expenditure
• Set up goals and objectives for department and employees
• Conduct performance reviews
• Liaise with customers and suppliers
• Create/improve a structured supplier development process and methodology
• Analyse customer returns and plant rejects and contribute to the problem-solving process
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
• Achieve targeted certification for the company, relevant to the SHEQ management system requirements
• Improve customer satisfaction through customer complaints reduction
• Reduce cost non – quality through internal reject rate, internal scrap rate, re work rate, supplier return rate at world class standard.
KNOWLEDGE
• Knowledge and understanding of product manufactured and technologies employed
• SANS ISO 9001;2015, SANS ISO 1400:2004 and SANS ISO 1801:2011
• Knowledge of company ERP system and other company systems
• Knowledge of Company systems and procedures
• Knowledge of Labour Act, OHSA and Regulations which may affect the company
