QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Ensure Compliance to local and relevant statutory requirements and Business Code of Practice.
 Provide leadership in implementation and maintenance of effective Quality Management systems.
 Conduct a robust Risk Assessments for all processes within Quality Scope, implement, track and verify adequacy and effectiveness of corrections.
 Ensure regular process capability studies are conducted and improvement plans are in place.
 Implement effective Quality plans for all production lines.
 Ensure Data and defects analysis is done for all processes and relevant and actions are implemented
 Drive Problem Solving initiatives with operational to eliminate defects and Losses.
 Ensure Quality Control Monitoring Scheme methods throughout the Supply chain are validated, implemented and adhered to.
 Ensure High Quality standards of materials and production inputs by managing supplier control plans prevention of non-conforming material by means of SQA system
 Ensure raw material approvals and manage trials
 Ensure procedures, Work Instructions and records exist and are retrievable for all relevant sections and processes.
 Ensure Problem solving methods are adequate and fully implemented.
 Keep accurate record of supplier quality alerts.
 Liaise with production department and planning on the most economical use of discounted materials.
 Ensure an approved laboratory at required frequencies calibrates gauges.
 Ensure calibration records comply with ISO9002 requirements.
 Ensure all gauges used, including personal gauges, are incorporated in the calibration system.
 Ensure standards manuals are available at all locations where reference to manuals will be required.
 Enforce effective manual change control system and ensure removal and disposal of obsolete pages.
 Carry out manual audits to ensure effectiveness of manual change control system.
 Evaluate capability studies and liaise with supervision on necessary corrective action.

Ensure training on Statistical Process Control techniques.
 Ensure that updated specifications are available at all times.
 Enforce SUE principles and ensure records are kept of SUE’s.
 Maintain quality management systems that comply with ISO9002.
 Ensure follow-up audits are carried out to verify the effectiveness of corrective action.
 Ensure process audits are carried out on a regular and planned basis. Follow-up on corrective action taken to address findings.
 Ensure management review of quality management system is done twice per annum.
 Ensure trial documentation is available and used according to manufacturing appraisal.
 Identify trial material and finished goods properly.
 Periodic reports on HFI and spoilage to be available on request. HFI and spoilage records to be available by 11:00 every day.
 SUE records to be available – by line and machine.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

A relevant University Degree in Quality, Operations, Health Sciences, Industrial or Chemical Engineering.

6 Years in Managerial Position

 Implementation of the ISO 9001:2015 management system;
 Implementation of Food Safety Management system, ISO 22000:2005 FSSC 22000:2013 ; ISO/TS 22002-1; ISO-TS 22002-4 standards;
 Proven experience in dealing with trade unions and working in a highly unionized environment.
 Computer literacy as an advanced user.
