Our client, a major player in the mining sector, is seeking a qualified artisan with specialized refrigeration expertise to maintain and optimize critical cooling systems at their underground and surface operations. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the reliability of industrial refrigeration plants that support mine ventilation, equipment cooling, and environmental control systems.
Requirements:
- Section 13/26D Trade Certificate or completed apprenticeship with NTC 2 (Essential)
- SARACCA Registration, valid and up-to-date (Non-negotiable)
- 3+ years in refrigeration plant maintenance (Howden/York systems preferred)
- Fault-finding and repairs on industrial refrigeration plants
- Adherence to OEM maintenance schedules (daily/weekly/monthly)
- Ammonia spill control protocols
- Valid driver’s license & medical fitness certificate
Key Focus:
- Maintaining and repairing Howden and York refrigeration plants essential for deep-level mining operations
- Servicing ammonia-based and R134a cooling systems that regulate temperatures in underground workings
- Ensuring continuous operation of cooling infrastructure that protects both personnel and mining equipment
