Registered Nurse - Midwife within Maternity Ward - Private Hospital

Location: Pretoria

Salaries are market related and negotiable upon qualifications and experience.

This vacancy Placement is with immediate effect and comes with permanent contracts.

Company benefits:  Medical Aid (50% Employer contribution and 50% Employee contribution)

Provident Fund (7.5% Employer contribution and 7.5% Employee contribution)

Incentive bonus is not guaranteed and will only be considered on the following conditions:

a) when an average score of 70% has been achieved in terms of individual performance appraisal results based on the discretion of the Management of which such approval will be,

b) subject to Directors discretion based on the financial viability of the Company at the time.

Working Hours:  Shifts as per duty roster.

Role Summary:

The Registered Nurse - Midwife within the Maternity Ward will render and promote cost effective, safe quality patient care in accordance with hospitals standards and policies and will further be responsible for direct and/or indirect nursing care of patient or a group of patients, for assessing , planning, executing and supervising the implementation of care to meet patient needs.

Key Work Output and Accountability:

• Practice patient care according to the scope of practice and assume total responsibility for these activities.
• Contribute to the holistic care of patients.
• 2 years experience within the Maternity ward
• Attend handover of report at shift commencement.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care.
• Promote patient of health and well being.
• Audit of health records to ensure compliance.
• Ensure all stock is well controlled and managed, charged and credited appropriately.
• Promote and maintain good public relations with patients, relatives and visitors.

Inherent Requirements:

• Relevant Nursing Qualification(B-cure Degree)
• Registration with The South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/Midwife or equivalent NQF 7 qualification.
• Relevant Qualification and experience within a specialist area.
• Advanced Computer Literacy.
• Flexible in working hours/Shifts.
• Capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation.
