SUMMARY:
A vacancy has arisen for a Quality Control Team Leader with an automotive client in Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha.

POSITION INFO:
Duties:

- Promote Operating Principles of Safety and Health, Environmental Stewardship, Highest Ethical Behavior, Respect for People & Quality throughout the company.
- Adherence and Maintanance of Management Systems.
- Manage and Schedule daily work through the QC lab and tinting in accordance with production demands ensuring product Quality.
-Prepare and co-ordinate batch submissions to OE customers including creating COA’s, releasing batches on SAP and analysing submission results on Paint Data.
- Liaise with OE Customer Managers and Technical Service and Technical Service Consultants with regard to customer complaints and and product queries.
- Prepare and facilitate production meetings with regards to status of products in QC lab.
- Compile and manage department budget and capex.
- Drive continual improvement for all QC lab processes.
- Facilitate training for QC laboratories.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in chemical related subject or equivalent
- Moderate level of computer literacy (MS Office)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in automotive paint environment - 3-5 years laboratory experience in a paint manufacturing environment
- Sound knowledge of:
Quality Management Systems
Good planning skills
People management
