Quality Engineer – Contract

SUMMARY:
This is an 18-month contract position where you will be required to implement IATF 16949. It is therefore essential that you have 5 years of working experience as a QA Engineer in a Quality Department within an IATF 16949 listed company

POSITION INFO:

Reporting to the Quality Manager you will be required to manage the plant’s quality activities and to maintain the product, process, quality and systems to agreed standards. This will be done through the facilitation of improvements and audits and the implementation of testing products, tooling and fixtures.  Ensure the production of products that meet specifications. Manage the complete process of change or new development of parts, plant, equipment and processes in the plant.

Qualification, Skills and Experience:

• Recognised Qualification in Quality Management (e.g., Certificate in TQM)
• National Technical Qualification (Mechanical/I Industrial/Chemical Engineering National Diploma)
• Formal Training in Quality Management Principals Formal Training in auditing techniques internal auditor, VDA 6.3 Auditor Process Auditor)
• Formal Training in Quality Management Principals (ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016 & VDA 6.3:2016)
• Core Tools (APQP & Control Plans 2nd Ed, PFMEA 4th Ed, PPAP 4th Ed))
• Formal Training in auditing techniques (e.g., ISO internal auditor, Process Auditor)
• Min 5 years’ working experience as QA Engineer in a Quality Department within an IATF 16949 listed company
• Experience in writing procedures and compiling monthly reports.
• Experience in using root cause analyses tools.
• Valid Driver’s License and be presentable for Customer interaction.
• Computer Literacy essential
• Training on SHE legislation and/or Environmental standards (ISO 14001 & ISO 45000) VDA 6.5 and Product Safety will be an added advantage.

Key Performance Areas

• Assist in maintaining an integrated Quality Management System structure within the management structure.
• Perform audits of the systems, processes, and products on-site to a defined audit schedule.
• Continually monitor the adherence to optimum process settings and controls, targeting continual improvement.
• Assist in the successful implementation of IATF 16949 Standards
• Facilitate action teams and improvement programs to continually improve on identified risks.
• Ensure that safety, environmental and quality standards are always maintained through random auditing of various standards and requirements at set intervals to set formats.
• Ensure data collection and analyses of data trends and focus areas for improvement drives.
• Circulate data and management reports to share information on focus areas and needs for improvement.
• Control all quality-related documentation in the plant
• Continually Improve upon the effective use of quality tools available to assist with improvement drives on the shop floor, at the source.
• Continually Monitor, Measure and Trend the Performances within the plant to highlight and reduce risks and concerns.
• Maintain Quality Registers, distribution matrices and relevant boundary samples
• Based on continual evaluation compile and circulate monthly scorecards for all suppliers to your plant.
• Coordinate the creation and implementation of a set of quality-related training modules for various levels of competency in quality tools and techniques for use as continual improvement tools at the plant.
