Our client in the automotive sector seeks to employ a Quality Engineer with automotive industry experience to join their operations in Gqeberha.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties:

Maintain the Quality System via annually scheduled audits.
Ensure QMS requirement of each procedure to be audited at least once per year and all corrective actions to be
carried out effectively with sustainability. Verify that the organization continues to meet specified requirements.
Report on the quality system status (daily, weekly, monthly and half-yearly).
Obtain commitments to corrective actions from responsible persons and report the success/failure thereof to
management with resultant recognition/disciplinary actions carried out. Monitor the Management Team’s commitment to
maintaining the System.
Provide training in quality principles & tools across all levels and functional disciplines.
Train from Management to Operator level (Including Suppliers). Course content to be developed/personalized to company requirements.
Develop action plans for realization of quality system improvement projects.
Interpret and cross-reference all applicable standards with the aim of effectively encapsulating these requirements
into day-to-day operations.
Support advanced quality planning in the auditing and evaluation of documentation and processes.
Ensure that Customer specific requirements have been addressed prior to Customer’s visit as this has a decided
impact on the positive perception of the organization’s ability to address Customer quality needs systemically with influence on future business aspirations.
Support the Supplier approval/development process by conducting system/process audits.
Ensure that the supplier adheres to the organization’s requirements. Audit to contractual relationship or proposed relationship.
Support the function of quality engineering in addressing system issues affecting the quality of product and processes.
Ensure that the corrective actions raised by quality engineering are effectively addressed and that responsible
persons are held accountable.
Monitor and maintain the Concessions/deviations register.
Ensure that the company is protected against questions of
unauthorized quality practices resulting in warranty concerns, trace ability issues and potential harm to Customer Relations.
Supplier Assistance and Development.
Supplier performance monitoring.
Supplier Corrective Action & G8D management.
Raw Materials Receiving Department – oversee and mentor Receiving Quality Technicians.

Requirements:

Degree Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Mechatronics and or similar/related qualification
Detailed knowledge of quality systems, statistical methods and principles of quality control
3 years experience in the quality auditing field
5 years experience in the Automotive sector related to Quality, Process Engineering
Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
Detailed knowledge of Quality Systems, Statistical Methods and principles of quality control are essential
FMEA, control Plan, PPAP, SPC, APQP completed courses
