Quality Engineering Manager

SUMMARY:
Quality Engineering Manager- Pietermaritzburg

POSITION INFO:
Our client is a well-established business in the engineering/automotive sectors and is based in Pietermaritzburg. They are looking to onboard a qualified and experienced Quality Engineering Manager. This role will report to the Operational Director and oversee two other senior staff.

Responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring Customer Satisfaction
• Internal PPM analysis and problem solving
• Cost of Poor Quality
• Managing the Customer Warrantee Process
• Conducting and facilitating PPAP – APQP Process New Projects.
• Managing the Quality Control Inspections and Processes
• Managing the Quality Engineering Activities.
• Overseeing the Quality Lab Testing functions
• Managing the organizational Calibration System
• Project Management
• Departmental Risk Mitigation
• Continuous Improvement.

• BSc Mechanical Engineering/ Diploma in Engineering or similar
• Automotive Quality Management System certification (IATF16949)
• Proven internal problem solving ability
  Experience working with Advanced product quality planning (APQP) and other Core Tools 
• Strong customer liaison experience with exceptional communication skills
• Self-motivated, dilligent and a team-player
• Excellent staff management and leadership ability (preferably in a unionized working environment).
