SUMMARY:

One of the leading chemicals and specialty company within explosives business unit is currently looking to hire a Quality Systems Implementation Specialist with the following:

POSITION INFO:

  • Develop and sustain the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001:2015 requirements and industry best practice
  • Implement, regulate, control and improve Quality processes throughout the business to enhance the customer experience.
  • Support the external ISO 9000 audit program and ensure that all non-conformances raised are systemically closed.
  • Coordinate and coach the business on requirements of the ISO 9000 Quality Management System in all aspects of the explosives business. 

Required outputs: Functional
  • Guide Mining Explosives with respect to ISO 9000 Quality Management System, standardisation and best practices
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Support the execution of business objectives through the implementation of Quality Management System based on ISO 9000 Principles, ZERO HARM, Process Auditing and Continous Improvement
  • Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operations, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements
  • Coach others on the philosophy, methods, tools and techniques of process improvement to increase the capability of the business to respond to quality problems
  • Assessing, analyzing and implementing solutions across the facilities and supporting functions to identify and eliminate waste, organize around Lean processes and deliver excellence on service, quality, productivity and cost
  • Lead and execute Continous Improvement projects
  • Develop the Management Systems implementation plan and the management arrangements for key milestones, demonstrating solid progress against plan
  • Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Update quality documentation and communicate to carry forward lessons learned from quality concerns (incidents and/or audits)
  • Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and audits
  • Train and coach others in all aspects of the quality system and application of procedures
  • Ensure corrective actions are undertaken to address non conformities found
  • Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
  • Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the quality strategy
  • Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers
  • Communicate with personnel at all levels, internally and externally to the Company, in relation to Quality matters
  • Analyse self-audits and CAPA done to filter out system trends, disgnose a remedy and implement solutions.


Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Requirements
  • Matric / Grade 12.
  • Diploma or BEng Industrial/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering
  • BCP (Surface & Underground)
  • Exposure to Value Stream Mapping, Problem Solving Techniques, SMED, 5S, Waste Elimination, OEE, Poka Yoke, Standardisation, Kaizen, PDCA, etc
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations role within mining/ explosives environment and related industries.
  • Minimum 5 years auditing experience within ISO 9001
  • Minimum of 3 years in Continous Improvement role and Implementation of best practices.
  • Experience with Focus Improvement Methodology (WCM)
  • Hand-on experience with Enterprise Excellency body of knowledge including DMAIC & PDCA methodology, problem solving, standard work, SMED, OEE, OPE
  • Previous experience in driving/leading improvements in Focus Improvement
  • Knowledge and understanding of Company Policies, Processes and Procedure
