Duties and Responsibilities:
*Assists with external audits (SAFSIS, Export Audit, Pick ‘n Pay, FSSC)
*Responsible for supplier visits and conducting supplier audits to ensure that suppliers'' products adhere to the correct specifications.
*Responsible for internal GMP Audits on a monthly basis.
*To produce monthly departmental audits in line with our external audit standards.
*To query deviations, to identify non-conformances, to ensure that corrective actions are executed and to sign off completed documentation. This includes setting and maintaining quality assurance standards, continuous on-the-floor training of staff, and assisting staff to understand and adhere to the standards set.
*Hygiene and Sanitation management, ensuring compliance to company standard To coordinate and audit the operation of the Quality System in accordance with the Quality Manual and Audit Programme.
*Manage product and process improvement to ensure continuous improvement.
*To ensure that a library of up-to-date records, standards, and specifications relevant to product quality is built up, thereby creating an audit trail.
*Pest Control management.
*To manage the Quality Assurance system in such a way so that compliance or controls are monitored continuously to prevent deviations from occurring in the workplace.
*To be active daily in all departments ensuring compliance with methods, procedures, and controls that protects the quality and integrity of the company’s products, helping make GMP habitual at all levels.
*To react to all noncompliances by assisting whichever department to ensure future compliance.
*Responsible for the drawing up and distribution of management review minutes for Dairy and Juice.
*Responsible for compiling an internal audit schedule – Policies, procedures, and worksheets.
*To assume overall responsibility for the micro laboratories. Responsible for the day-to-day operational running of the Micro and Chemistry lab.
*To check all results and identify what follow-ups were done – troubleshooting and investigation i.e. In other words did the lab staff follow all the procedures to check all possible avenues of Contamination.
*To carry out random checks throughout the factory to ensure quality standards are being met and that cleaning procedures are being followed.
*To keep accurate records of all checks carried out. *To manage all the activities of the micro lab staff by ensuring that results are timeously provided to production, that results are accurate and recorded accurately for traceability.
*To minimize production downtime as a result of the factory waiting for results of samples.

*In the event of recurring microbiological problems – ensure constant/proactive focus on problems by advising, supporting, and assisting production with identification of the root causes of the problem and in finding workable solutions to overcome the problem.
