Are you self-motivated, commercially astute with 6+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the power infrastructure project-based environment? If you have a keen eye for detail, crunching numbers and keeping within budget, as well as the ability to communicate effectively across all levels, then this golden opportunity is for you!

Our client, who is committed to providing businesses with the means to create their own clean energy sustainably, is seeking a numerate and risk adverse Quantity Surveyor to maximise project margin and add value to the construction process. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will find yourself carrying out monthly financial reviews on renewable energy projects and forecast final output values for cost, sales and margin. In fact, you will play a pivotal role in providing the foundation for a successful project, your cost plans will determine the design of each project! You will have a Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying along with a Bachelor of Technology degree. This role will allow you to leverage your industry knowledge and supply and subcontracting networks by playing a central part in the decision-making process throughout the development of a project – more specifically from a financial standpoint, from the initial stages through to completion. Drawing on your previous experience in the renewables game, you be able to provide advice to project staff on commercial and contractual matters including reviewing and drafting of correspondence.

If you are the perfect candidate for this amazing opportunity, you will find yourself not only evaluating tenders from various contractors but also opening the floor for negotiation which will benefit your employer and the contracting party. You will occasionally need to assist the Head of Projects, Finance and the Managing Director with a range of duties as required, as well as supply them with all relevant information for review at predetermined intervals. You will need to monitor all commercial information in relation to projects, including labour, material and sub-contractor cost forecasting in order to ensure budgets are adhered to. It is vital that you are professional in appearance and are an energetic team player.
