Quantity Surveyor ELECTRICAL

SUMMARY:
We currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to attend to day to day site operations in the most cost-effective for all projects.
 
The ideal candidate must have 5 - 10 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor with knowledge of the electrical field, and must have excellent negotiation, analytical and be thorough in managing relationships with key persons, clients, consultants and suppliers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Measurements

• Ensure that onsite measurements presented are accurate in all aspects.
• Evaluate and spot check onsite measurements by conducting them self.
• Receive input and update measurements accurately on QTO, where after all QTO measurements are to be transferred to Bill Of Quantities.
• Ensure all measurements are accurate and up to date for the processing of valuation claims. Ensure that onsite measurements presented are accurate in all aspects
• Evaluate all variation orders in order to ensure precise pricing and submission thereof
• Communicate and liaise with all sub-contractors in order to receive relevant quotations that are to be included into price
• Generate applicable site instructions for approval submission.
• Evaluate BOQ in order to identify discrepancies between the BOQ and drawings where after accurate costing are to be conducted according to the data presented on the drawings
• Apply standard procedure to determine accurate valuation claims that are to be provided to the relevant client
• Ensure that all valuation claims include sub-contractor measurements, inhouse trades, independent consultant measurements and any additional costings
• Analyze final account for entire project in order to ensure that all monthly valuation claims are reconsolidated into project final account

• Compilation of all information required for costing of additional works including evaluating and pricing thereof.
• Evaluate all variation orders in order to ensure precise pricing and submission thereof.
• Communicate and liaise with all sub-contractors in order to receive relevant quotations that are to be included into price.
• Evaluate BOQ in order to identify discrepancies between the BOQ and drawings where after accurate costing are to be conducted according to the data presented on the drawings.
• Generate applicable site instructions for approval submission.

• Apply standard procedure to determine accurate valuation claims that are to be provided to the relevant client.
• All sub-contractor valuations claims are to be certified by onsite measurements before final inclusion into client valuation claim.
• Ensure that all valuation claims include sub-contractor measurements, inhouse trades, independent consultant measurements and any additional costings.
• Analyze final account for entire project in order to ensure that all monthly valuation claims ae reconsolidated into project final account Onsite Procurement
• Oversee, understand and improve requisition form as presented by Site Agent.
• Collaborate with the Procurement Department to ensure that all elements requested fit spec as per site requirements.

• Matric/ Grade 12 Certificate
• Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• CCS and QTO
• 5-10 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveying
• Must be detailed oriented and self-disciplined
• Excellent attention to detail
• Valid drivers’ licence and own transport
