Employer Description Our client is an original equipment manufacturer. Job Description You will be responsible for leading the procurement team as well as owning the purchase order discipline and supplier delivery performance. Qualifications Diploma or degree in procurement, supply chain management, commerce or industrial engineering. CIPS or an equivalent professional qualification, Skills A minimum of 7+ years in procurement or supply chain in a manufacturing or engineered-product environment At least 3 years leading buyers, or holding meaningful purchasing authority Proven purchasing of raw materials, fabricated or machined components, bearings, polymers, consumables or subcontracted processes. Strong hands-on manufacturing ERP. SYSPRO strongly preferred. Able to read bills of material, drawings and technical specifications well enough to buy correctly and to recognise when a proposed supplier change needs Engineering approval. Practical supplier performance management. On time in full, expediting, scorecards, corrective action and supplier development. Commercial negotiation across price, payment terms, lead time, minimum order quantity, escalation mechanisms and supplier recovery. Working knowledge of ISO 9001 procurement controls and approved-supplier governance. Strong Excel, and practical use of AI-assisted tools for RFQ comparison, exception prioritisation, document checking and reporting
