Employer Description Our client specializes in the fabrication and assembly of electrical components. Job Description You will be responsible for: Preparing detailed cost estimates for Low Voltage Switchgear and Controlgear Assemblies, including materials, labor, and fabrication requirements. Review technical drawings and specifications, collaborate with engineering and production teams to clarify scope, and obtaining pricing from suppliers. Analyze project requirements, develop competitive proposals, and support the sales team with accurate costing and technical input. Additional responsibilities include maintaining up-to-date costing data, monitoring project margins, and contributing to process improvements in estimating and bid preparation. Qualifications Relevant technical qualification \/ Matric certificate Skills Strong technical understanding of Low Voltage Switchgear, Controlgear Assemblies. Knowledge of electrical industry standards and best practices related to Low Voltage Assemblies and containerized electrical houses. Ie, IEC\/SANS 61439-1\/2 , SANS 1973 1\/3 Prior experience in switchgear manufacturing is highly advantageous. Experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings, single line diagrams, panel layouts, and technical specifications. Proficiency in estimating and costing, and preparation of detailed quotations. Competence with relevant software tools, such as MS Office (Excel, Word), drawing review applications. Strong analytical, numerical, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with engineering, production, sales, and suppliers. Ability to work on-site at the workshop, manage multiple estimates simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fastpaced, high pressure environment.
