Our client is  an industrial engineering group that designs and supplies machines, process equipment and production lines for the world’s largest industrial players.

Job Description

Reporting to the Operations Director, You will be responsible for:

• Managing the Engineering Department (2 subordinates)
• Design in 2D
• Modelling in 3D
• Review and approval of drawings
• Setting and maintaining technical standards
• Maintain engineering processes and procedures (i.e. welding, heat treatment etc)
• Site visits and equipment inspections
• Technical assistance / audits at client site
• Scope of work creation (client and suppliers)
• Provide input and Review QCP’s (Quality Control Plans)
• Non-conformance action management for Engineering department
• Provide input for Requests for Quotation for Projects, Spare Parts and Repairables
• Loading, modifying, analysing and revising of Bill of Materials (BOM’s) and Inventory Codes
• Extracting information and technical data from SAP and other databases
• Access/download drawings from SAP R3/B1
• Production support (machining, fabrication etc)
• Comply with legal and company specific HSEQ requirements
• Consider quality and safety in all work performed
• Report any quality non-conformance near misses or incidents

Qualifications

• BSc Mechanical Engineering
• ECSA registration as a Pr Eng is advantageous
• Welding Inspector qualification advantageous
• Leadership / Management Diploma

Skills

• 3 – 5 years’ experience in a mechanical engineering position More than 2 years’ experience in a senior position
• Aluminium smelter equipment experience will be advantageous
• Knowledge of Solios/ECL equipment advantageous
• Experience with CAD software/Autodesk Inventor
