Job Description

You are an Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer, capable of undertaking tasks independently on a project, reporting to the Project Electrical and Instrumentation Lead. You should have experience in working on the entire design process (Basis of design, Detailed design, Construction Support) with between 5 and 10 years’ experience. • Writes scope of work for electrical design based on preliminary review and meetings with the client.
• Prepares engineering studies and schematic design for new systems and analyse operation of existing systems.
• Works with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required.
• Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
• Creates specialized drawings such as electrical single line
• Provides drawing for own designs and produces sketches to incorporate in drawings by drafters.
• Researches design options and documents findings for Project Designer/Engineer.
• Assures that drawings and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards.
• Interacts with other Departments and disciplines including: Process / HVAC / Piping / EHS / Automation / C&Q / Procurement.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng Electrical Engineering

Skills

• Minimum of 5 -10 years'' of relevant electrical experience in pharmaceutical/food & beverage/biotechnology/oil & gas EPCM projects
• Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer aided drafting (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
• General knowledge of electrical system design and applicable codes
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Advanced MS office computer skills
• Result-oriented, customer-focused
