POSITION INFO:
Job Title: R&D Mechanical Engineer – Land Systems
Location: Centurion - Hennopspark

Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required:
- BEng / BSc in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 5+ years R&D (Research and Development) or design experience in land-based vehicles, heavy machinery, or defense systems
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, CATIA)
- Experience with FEA, prototyping, and testing methodologies
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and drivetrain systems
Beneficial requirements:- Exposure to military vehicle development or armored systems
- Knowledge of ISO, MIL-STD, or similar standards
- Experience in cross-disciplinary teams including software, electronics, or mechatronics
Duties and responsibilities: - Research, design, and develop land-based mechanical systems including suspension, powertrain, and structural elements.
- Prototype and test new components for military or commercial land vehicles.
- Integrate hydraulic and pneumatic systems for optimal field performance.
- Apply principles of vehicle dynamics and mechanical design in product development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems, electronics, and manufacturing engineers.
- Participate in field trials and data analysis for performance improvements.
- Ensure compliance with technical standards and customer requirements.
