POSITION INFO:

RESORT GENERAL MANAGER – Mpumalanga

A tourism and hotel group with something to offer everyone – luxury lodges, adventure holidays, self catering holidays, caravanning and camping, conferences, weddings and other events, health hydros and spas and more have a position available for a General Manager to direct resort operations by developing and implementing strategies, actions and services

Qualifications and Skills

• Relevant Tertiary Qualification – Resort/Hotel Management
• General Management Qualification Diploma in Financial Management / Food and Beverage an advantage
• Multilingualism
• Strong financial background and exceptionally good communication and marketing skills

Experience

• 5-10 years experience in a management environment of which 5 years at a senior management level
• Good understanding of all facets of Business management, including Financial  management, strategic planning, human resources, operating management, marketing, leadership, guest relations, quality assurance, diversity management etc
• Excellent presentation skills, organising and planning, ability to influence relevant stakeholders, integrity etc.

Duties

Financial

• Control costs and expenses whilst maximizing revenues, thus achieving optimum profitability
• Prioritize capital expenditure requirements

Marketing & Sales

• Develop a sound integrated marketing plan for the Resort

Human Resources

• Effectively monitor Resort management and strive for ongoing development and high morale of the entire workforce through training, communication and interaction between Resort management and staff.
  • Identify management potential and development needs and agree appropriate action with HR
  • Implement job descriptions and company performance appraisal procedures.
  • Manage the KPA’s

Strategic Planning

• Develop a sound integrated business plan for the Resort.
• Develop and conduct research for top quality products at the Resort.

Guest Relations

• Maintain high visibility status by interacting with guests
• Constantly monitor and update quality and service policy.
