STORE MANAGERS/ ASSISTANT STORE MANAGERS / EAST LONDON - The purpose of the Store Manager is to effectively plan, control and monitor the performance of the store to ensure operation at an optimal level. The successful Candidate will have strong admin. skills, strong people management, stock management as well as shrinkage
Minimum Requirements:
At least 5 years’ experience in all aspects of day-to-day running and managing of a Store
Matric / Grade 12 (or equivalent qualification)
Tertiary Qualifications in Retail management / equivalent
Proven track record in shrinkage- and expense control, budgets and exceptional customer service
Computer literate (Outlook, MS Word/Excel), including strong numeric competency
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Clear Credit- and Criminal Record
Industrial Relations experience recommended
Key Duties:
Manage targets and profitability of all departments; Sales Targets; Discount management; Scan rates/Price changes; Wastage/ write offs; Shrinkage; Expenses; Category management
Manage stock: Ordering; Category stock adjustments; Floor cover; Security; Receiving; Manage the BI-Annual stock take twice a year
Manage the front-end function: Shortage/Overage; Shifts/Rosters; Floats; Cashing up; Balancing; Daily Banking; Petty Cash
Pricing and POS: Pricing; POS; Theme POS
Manage Promotions: Stock levels
Housekeeping and Store Layout: Stock; Floors; Barcoding; Display units & Gondola runs; Equipment maintained; Customer care results; Safety check audits and fire regulations; Check outs
Manage staff: Recruitment; Discipline staff; Training; Coach staff; Performance Management; Communicating with staff; Shifts and rosters; Leave; Personnel administration
Managing customers: Resolving customer complaints; Advising customers; Customer relationships; Community activities; Customer activities in store; Customer focus groups; Telephone etiquette
Open and Close Store: Maintain Store standards; Maintain profitability; Maintain security procedures; Monitor risk areas
