SUMMARY:
DBN000359 - Raw Material Buyer - DBN Dube Tradeport

Purpose of the job:
To source, negotiate, and purchase essential production materials by collaborating with key stakeholders to optimize supply chain efficiency, quality, and cost competitiveness.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven experience as a Procurement Buyer, with a strong preference for candidates from the manufacturing sector.
Systems: Highly proficient in modern procurement software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, specifically Sage

POSITION INFO:
Technical Competencies & Experience: Strategic Supplier Management: Source, evaluate, and onboard high-quality material suppliers while maintaining strong relationships and managing ongoing vendor performance. Contract and Cost Negotiation: Negotiate competitive contract terms and pricing agreements, using market trends and benchmarking to drive measurable cost savings without impacting quality. Streamlined Procurement Operations: Manage purchase order cycles and lead times efficiently to guarantee the timely delivery of packaging and raw materials for production. Optimized Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and oversee replenishment processes to improve turnover rates, prevent stockouts, and minimize excess stock. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with production, quality control, and logistics teams to align material procurement with demand forecasts and production schedules. Issue and Risk Mitigation: Swiftly resolve supplier discrepancies regarding quality, pricing, or delivery while proactively mitigating potential supply chain disruptions.
