SUMMARY:
Our client in the Northern suburbs is looking for an experienced and proactive Material Planner to manage and execute Raw Material Planning tasks. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and the Group Purchasing team to ensure alignment between procurement and production timelines, track material usage, manage inventory levels, and ensure timely delivery of materials. This position is based in Blackheath, Cape Town, and reports to the Purchasing Manager.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field)
4-6 years' experience in a similar role, specializing in Imported Raw Materials
Chemical industry experience (advantageous)
Planning qualification (SAPICS/APICS) is advantageous
Working knowledge of INCOTERMS, shipping lead times, and constraints
Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP), and ERP systems (SAP, IFS)
Fluent in English (written and verbal)
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
