Key Responsibilities:

1. Receiving & Unpacking Shipments:

   • Assist with the physical unloading of merchandise from delivery trucks.
   • Check the shipment against delivery invoices to ensure accuracy.
   • Unpack and sort items in designated areas, ensuring items are in good condition.

2. Inventory Documentation:

   • Record and tag incoming inventory accurately in the system.
   • Identify and report any discrepancies or damaged items to the Receiving Supervisor.
   • Maintain organized, up-to-date records of all received shipments.

3. Stock Management:

   • Organize and label items in the stockroom based on the store’s inventory system.
   • Assist with periodic inventory counts and stock audits as required.
   • Rotate stock and ensure older items are positioned for easy access to reduce overstocking.

4. Communication and Coordination:

   • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and merchandising, to fulfill stock requests efficiently.
   • Notify appropriate departments about new arrivals or special orders.
   • Assist in preparing items for store transfer or returns as directed.

5. Safety & Cleanliness:

   • Ensure stockroom is maintained in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
   • Adhere to all store and safety policies, including handling of heavy items and use of equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts (if trained).
