SUMMARY:
A leading international Manufacturing Company specialising in rigid packaging requires the above to establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current and prospective Key Accounts as well as to generate new business.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Previous experience having worked in a Sales or Key Accounts Management role within the Plastic Packaging Industry is essential.
  • Previous experience having dealt with Retail, Automotive, Food and Beverage, Pharmaceutical and Chemical Related Manufacturers as well as having built strong relationships with these Customers is preferred.
  • The successful candidate must have previous experience in the preparation of quotations and tender plans.
  • The successful candidate must have strong commercial acumen in identifying opportunities and follow through of sales.
  • The successful candidate needs to have excellent organisational and leadership skills as well as excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing new business as well as managing Key Accounts.
  • Locating and proposing potential business deals by contacting potential Customers as well as discovering and exploring opportunities.
  • Preparing budgets for the region.
  • Achieving and improving the annual agreed targets as to achieve maximum profit (individual sales versus actual sales achieved).
  • Completing monthly sales forecasts (versus actual sales achieved) as well as updating sales forecasts on a daily basis.
  • Continuously improving and expanding the current Customer base.
  • Identifying new markets and conversion opportunities.
  • Developing and maintaining a market intelligence system to ensure detailed knowledge of competitors and product trends.
  • Building and maintaining good working relationship with Customers to ensure the understanding of their needs and business.
  • Providing price and product information to Customers and potential Customers.
  • Monitoring orders against delivery plan and ensuring that delivery dates are met.
  • Actively monitoring and maintaining debtors days to ensure that all debt is being controlled.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
