Regional Sales Manager - Mining Chemicals - Copper Mining - Congo

SUMMARY:
A well-known and established mining chemical company supplying flotation chemicals into the copper and related mining industries requires the above to head up, manage, drive and oversee all mining chemicals within the Congo area.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements for the role:

• Minimum matric is essential.
• A tertiary qualification in either chemical engineering or metallurgical engineering is preferred for the role.
• Previous experience managing and calling on the mining industry within the Congo area is essential for the role.
• The successful candidate needs to be based in Congo.
• Previous experience having sold mining chemicals, such as flotation reagents, etc. or related mining chemical products into the mining industry is preferred.
• The successful candidate should have a work permit or be a resident in the Congo.
• The company is happy to consider a candidate who has worked within the water treatment industry but who has called on the copper mines for this role.
• Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
• Must be computer literate.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Strong team player with the ability to build and foster relationships.

• Heading up, managing, driving and overseeing all mining chemicals within the Congo area.
• Managing and driving the companies sales strategy and sales objectives for the bulk copper mining industry within the Congo.
• Developing and maintaining a cohesive national pipeline rollout implementation strategy.
• Running trials at customers to ensure that the chemicals that are supplied are adding value to the customers mining process.
• Managing company working capital and adopting a responsible prudent approach to managing stocks and debtors.
• Coordinating with various bulk mining chemicals manufacturers/suppliers for cost effective and efficient products for possible substitutes for existing products.
• Advising and recommending procurement/logistics on sources for new product lines.
• Conducting metallurgical test works on various bulk mining chemical products by arranging with existing and new clients as and when required.
• Structuring and determining monthly price lists and overseeing contractual transactions supported with accurate costings and adopting financial prudency.
• Structuring and implementing and preparing sales budgets and regular reviews thereof, addressing variances and ensuring key sales metrics are met and/or exceeded.
• Achieving sales and gross margin targets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Presenting sales forecasts and budgets to senior management.
• Monitoring and managing sales turnover, gross margin, fixed and variable costs, research and development, production and distribution.
