JOB SUMMARY:
Registered Nurse – Emergency Department Qualified

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties & Responsibilities:

Effective cost management
Minimizing stock wastage
Facilitating maintenance of equipment
Initiate, direct and maintain emergency treatment (RESUS) as indicated to any patient / person in any ward / department of the hospital. To diagnose and treat the emergency patient quickly, effectively, and efficiently as possible within the Scope of Practice
Identifying and ensuring staff undergo department specific micro orientation
Ensuring daily care rounds are conducted and investigating complaints
Providing accurate, appropriate and adequate information to patients and family members during hospitalization
Comply with ISO requirements in order to facilitate infection control

Education and Experience

Preferred

Grade 12 or an equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification
Must be a Registered Nurse currently registered with the South African Nursing Council
Post Basic Qualification 12 months is essential
Private Hospital experience in an Emergency Department is advantageous
3 – 5 years’ experience in the specified discipline would be an advantageous
