Regulatory Technologist

SUMMARY:
An established manufacturer and distributor of agricultural chemicals is seeking a Regulatory Officer that will be responsible for trial protocols, data collection and assembling company dossiers.

POSITION INFO:


Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a relevant tertiary qualification in chemistry or agriculture
• SACNASP registration would be an added advantage
• Previous experience in a related role would be ideal
• Must be able to handle occasional chemical and physical analyses
• Must be bilingual with good communication and written skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans

• Performing activities associated with the registration of chemicals, mostly plant protection and fertilizer products, for use in the agricultural sector.
• Compiling dossiers according to the regulations and guidelines published by the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries according to Act 36 of 1947.
• Compiling and submitting registration application dossiers in compliance with statutory requirements of the regulatory authorities.
• Preparing registration trial protocols and trial reports for registration applications with authorities.
• Facilitating registration trials.
• Preparing labels for registration purposes and ensuring all labels conform to the requirements of the regulatory authorities concerned.
• Ensuring all promotional literature is technically correct and conforms to the destination country’s legal requirements.
• Attending external industry meetings with Croplife, FERTASA, SABO etc.
• Maintaining internal database and data management systems of registrations in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa.
• Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in science, relevant legislation and guidelines.
