Reinsurance Contract Accountant

Requirements

CA (SA)

5-10 years of Reinsurance experience

• Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer
• Responsible for the management of the Financial Accounting Department
• Preparation of IFRS annual financial statements.
• IFRS 17
• Attending and compiling reserving committee minutes for large claims.
• Monthly calculation of the policy performance bonus adjustments.
• Monthly calculation and compilation of the unearned premiums reserves for annual and quarterly business.
• Review and processing of month end journals.
• Management of day to day finance processes including authorisation of EFT payments and banking details.
• Responsible for the accounting
• Responsible for monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Reporting of the quarterly and the annual financial information
• Preparation of the quarterly Management Accounts i.e. the income statement and balance sheet.
• Analysis of the quarterly results Preparation of the reports.
• Preparation of the SARB and FSB returns for the monthly and quarterly regulatory reporting.
• Preparation of the IFRS annual financial statements.
