Remote Desktop Services Support Administrator: Release Management: Cape Town: Permanent Position

What will you do?

As a member of the GSA Managed Applications team, you will be supporting the Remote Desktop Services (RDS/Terminal server) solution, within Client according to SGT (Client Group Technology) standards. You will also be responsible in supporting the application within business agreed SLA’s.

For this role, we require a candidate with extensive experience in Windows Group Policy. The candidate should also have some client relationship management or project management exposure.

What will make you successful in this role?

  • Understanding Windows Group Policy (essential).
  • Understanding Remote desktop services.
  • Have a working understanding of Active Directory and LDAP.
  • Excellent documentation and time management skills.
  • Able to troubleshoot issues related to application hosting on a server level.
  • Have a solid understanding of the Windows Server environments.
  • Liaise with project managers, clients and various stakeholders to provide continuous feedback on projects as well as day-to-day activities.
  • Create weekly / monthly reports on incidents and requests.
  • Perform Release Management (Software, Hardware & Services) Activities.
  • Perform Change Management Activities, including Logging of changes, Attending Pre- / E- & Weekly CAB.
  • Assist with Change impact Evaluation.
  • Assist with Major Incident Management
  • Assist with Service Validation & Testing
  • Assist with Operation Support

Experience:

  • 1 – 3 years Group Policy Experience (essential)
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant IT experience.
  • Experience in Project Management would be advantageous
  • Experience in Client relationship management would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of one of more of SGT’s Clients Business and Systems will be advantageous

Qualifications:

Degree or Diploma with 3 to 5 years related experience

  • Problem Tracking Tools
  • Computer Installation
  • Compliance Monitoring
  • Computer Operations Knowledge
  • Information Reporting
