Research Assistant x 2 (4 Months Part-time Contract) vacancies are available at our Client, Wits Health Consortium in Braamfontein, Johannesburg - Gauteng.

POSITION INFO:

Background

Wits Health Consortium (Pty) Limited ("WHC") is a wholly-owned Company of the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (South Africa) under its Faculty of Health Sciences. WHC provides Faculty with a legal framework within which to operate the research and other activities necessary to support its academic objectives. In addition, WHC offers a range of products and services to the Academics conducting these activities in order to assist with the management thereof

Main purpose of the job

To provide research assistance for two activities of the NNW 2021 campaign

Location

School of Public Health, Wits Education Campus

Key performance areas

July Research – Pre-testing (qualitative)

Participate in pre-testing training in July
Take notes and support Qualitative pre-testing sessions for NNW materials either virtually or in person, if feasible
Compile pre-test reports into material-specific reports for the designer

October Research- Evaluation (mixed -methods)

Participate in any protocol training
Support data collection (Qualitative and/or Quantitative)
Support data cleaning
Support data analysis in the form of research notes

Required minimum education and training

Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc)
Experience with the recruitment of study participants
Experience in Qualitative research particularly focus group discussions
Must have access to a reliable internet connection, as research may be conducted virtually

Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities

In addition to English, fluency in an additional South African language is required (to be specified on the CV and motivation)
Experience in Quantitative data collection, and data quality assurance
Familiarity with RedCap

Required minimum work experience

Minimum of two years experience as a Research Assistant (or equivalent)
